From an early age, I've embraced the entrepreneurial spirit and the idea of creating something out of nothing.
I got my entrepreneurial bug at the age of 14 whilst at school. My first business started with a £65 loan from my dad and was optimistically named Computer World. I sold computer games and consoles through various markets during the weekends around London. My dad, at the time as well as my investor, happened to be my 'Transport Manager.' By the second year of trading, I had amassed over £27,000 of stock.
Whilst my formal education took me to Brunel University and eventually a Business & Management degree, I probably learned more taking a year out to restore my 1971 VW Beetle. With no prior knowledge and a student loan, it was a dream of mine from an early age. Suffice to say one year later and a lot of sweat (and tears) my dream had been accomplished. This was my Everest and accomplishing it, made me realise that anything was possible.
Since graduating I started, built and sold several businesses but all roads eventually led me to Mustard (www.justmustard.com). Here I learned the importance and power of narrative, brand, Sales & Marketing, and infrastructure.
Within a few short years Mustard rapidly grew to a multi-million-pound transatlantic global brand for your desk.
Our London-based design studio continues to curate and design collections that are manufactured for a global consumer base. Mustard’s desktop and stationery items are available online through its own site as well as high-street retailers in over 32 countries from John Lewis, Selfridges through to Fnac, El Corte Ingles, ASOS and Bloomindales. And whilst doing so Mustard has garnered a loyal following of Mustard devotees, from celebrities to royalty.
My passion for business and building brands has led me to help others with their business journey and continues to fulfill my lifelong purpose.
